Ingredients for Stir-fried vegetable heart

Choy sum 400g
Garlic 8g
Dried chilli 7g
Pepper powder one
Salt 2g
Sugar 2g
Oyster sauce 4g

 Steps:

1.First, we need to prepare the main ingredient: a bunch of fresh choy sum. When selecting choy sum, choose those with vibrant and tender green leaves to ensure a crisp texture in the cooked dish. Next, we need to split the choy sum stems and wash them thoroughly in a bowl. Cut them into small sections and set aside in the bowl.

2.Then, let’s prepare some seasonings. Take a few cloves of garlic, smash them and finely chop the garlic into minced form, placing it in a separate plate. At the same time, grab a handful of dried chili and set it aside. Here, smashing the garlic helps to make it more fragile, releasing a strong garlicky aroma.

3.Next, we begin the cooking process. Heat some oil in a pan, and once hot, add the minced garlic and dried chili that we prepared earlier. Stir-fry them over medium-low heat until fragrant. At this point, we will smell the rich aroma of garlic and chili, which is very enticing. Then, pour all the choy sum into the pan and stir-fry quickly over high heat. During the stir-frying process, we can add a small amount of oyster sauce and stir-fry with a spatula, ensuring that every piece of choy sum is evenly coated with the color and flavor of the oyster sauce. Next, add a suitable amount of salt, sugar, and pepper, continue stirring evenly. These seasonings enhance the taste and flavor of the choy sum.

4.Finally, continue stirring for about 30 seconds until all the ingredients are well mixed. Then, remove from heat and serve on a plate. The stir-fried choy sum is ready! The vibrant green choy sum combined with golden minced garlic and fiery red dried chili not only looks colorful but also has a delicious taste and is rich in nutrients.

Tips

1.Choose fresh and tender choy sum with vibrant green leaves. Discard any old or tough stems, and only use the tender ones. After washing, make sure to drain the excess water.
2.Heat the pan over high heat and add cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add the crushed garlic to infuse its aroma. Then, add the cleaned choy sum and stir-fry it. It’s important to use high heat throughout the stir-frying process to keep the choy sum tender. Don’t worry about scorching it, as frequent stirring prevents burning.
3.If some of the choy sum stems are thicker, you can add a little water to the pan and cover it with a lid to allow the choy sum to steam briefly. This ensures even heating and fully cooks the thicker stems, preventing them from being undercooked.

Whether as a home-cooked dish or a delectable treat at banquets, Stir-fried Choy Sum is capable of satisfying and delighting one’s palate. In the midst of a busy and fast-paced lifestyle, it’s worthwhile to set aside some time to personally craft a plate of Stir-fried Choy Sum and appreciate its wonderful taste and healthiness.
