Simple Night Market Delight: Pan-Fried Squid

Published Categorized as Vegetables

In the warm kitchen, a subtle glow reflects off the timeless cast-iron skillet while a gentle smile adorns its rim, pouring forth onto the quiet afternoon. Meticulously chosen squid emanates a faint luster under the silvery light, resembling the shimmer on a peaceful lake’s surface, drawing one into a state of intoxication.

Ingredients for Pan-Fried Squid:

Squid 1000g
Scallion 15g
Ginger 15g
Cooking wine 20g
Light soy sauce 10g
Chopped green onion 5g
Barbecue seasoning 10g
Barbecue Sauce 50g

Steps:

1.Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Clean the squid, remove the outer skin, and pour a bottle of barbecue sauce into a bowl.

2.Make incisions on the squid, cutting through the middle and making decorative cuts on both sides, being careful not to cut through the middle portion.

3.After making the decorative cuts, rinse the squid with clean water and place it in a bowl. Add some scallions, ginger, cooking wine, light soy sauce, and sprinkle some barbecue seasoning. Mix well and marinate for about 5 minutes.

4.Take a flat-bottomed pan and brush it with some oil. Once the oil is hot, place the marinated squid in the pan, ensuring it lies flat, and cook over medium-low heat. While cooking, constantly move and flip the squid to ensure even heating.

4.Brush some oil on top, then flip the squid and cook for a bit longer. Once the squid is evenly cooked and fragrant, reduce the heat. Brush a layer of barbecue sauce on both sides of the squid.

5.Sprinkle chopped scallions on top, and it’s ready to be served.

Tips:

1.After cleaning the squid, make sure to remove the black membrane.

2.For those who enjoy spicy flavors, you can sprinkle some chili powder separately.

In this serene afternoon, pan-fried squid becomes a delightful sight in the kitchen. It allows us to taste the essence of the ocean and experience the beauty of life.
