Ingredients for Pepper-Salt Chicken Popcorn

Chicken breast 450g
Chili powder 30g
Turmeric powder 12g
Salt 13g
Pepper powder 6g
Lemon one
Garlic 6g
Egg two
Breadcrumbs 100g
Edible oil 200g
fennel seeds 12g

Steps:

1.Carefully wash and clean the chicken breasts, then cut them into evenly sized small pieces. This step is crucial as it determines the shape and texture of the chicken popcorn after frying. Place the cut chicken pieces in a bowl large enough for mixing and marinating. Add some chili powder and turmeric powder to give the chicken popcorn a golden and enticing color. Add an appropriate amount of salt and pepper to enhance the flavor and make the texture more rich. Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice, which will brighten the overall taste of the marinade. Add a few minced garlic cloves, as the aroma of garlic complements the flavor of the chicken, making it more delicious. After stirring well, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the chicken marinate for about 1 hour.

2.In another bowl, crack 2 eggs and mix them thoroughly. Pour breadcrumbs into the bowl and add a suitable amount of chili powder, turmeric powder, and fennel seeds. These ingredients will impart a unique aroma and texture to the breadcrumbs. Don’t forget to season with an appropriate amount of salt and pepper.

3.Take the marinated chicken pieces and dip them one by one into the beaten egg mixture and then into the breadcrumbs. This step requires some patience as each chicken piece needs to be evenly coated with breadcrumbs. You can either dip them individually or roll all the chicken pieces in the egg mixture at once.

4.Start frying the pepper-salt chicken popcorn. Pour oil into a pan, filling it to approximately half its depth. When the oil reaches a moderate temperature (feeling slightly warm when you place your palm above it), carefully place the chicken pieces coated with egg and breadcrumbs into the oil. Use chopsticks to gently flip the chicken pieces, ensuring that both sides are fried to a golden crispy texture. Once both sides have turned irresistibly golden, it means they are done. Remove the fried chicken pieces from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain excess oil.

5.Place the fried pepper-salt chicken popcorn on a plate. You can sprinkle some salt and pepper or chili powder for added flavor. Alternatively, if you prefer a sweeter taste, you can sprinkle some powdered sugar or coconut sugar. The pepper-salt chicken popcorn is crispy and delicious, making it an excellent choice as a snack or appetizer.

Tips

1.When choosing chicken, it is preferable to select chicken breast or chicken thigh meat as they have a tender texture.
2.During the frying process, you can test a small piece of chicken to observe its color and texture. If you find it not crispy enough or lacking a golden color, you can adjust the batter ratio or frying time.
3.For a healthier alternative, you can minimize deep-frying by baking in the oven or using a pan-frying method. This will yield a healthier version of pepper-salt chicken popcorn while reducing the consumption of oil.

Pepper-salt chicken popcorn is a delicious, nutritious, and easy-to-make dish. Whether it’s enjoyed as a snack or paired with other delicacies, it brings satisfaction and happiness to people. Let’s try making and savoring the deliciousness of pepper-salt chicken popcorn together!
