Ingredients for Cold Tossed Century Eggs

Pidan four
Red pepper 15g
Green pepper 15g
Garlic 8g
Ginger 5g
Edible oil 12g
Sugar 4g
Salt 2g
Aginomoto 1g
Light soy sauce 5g
Mature vinegar 5g

Steps:

1.First, we prepare 4 century eggs. Peel off the shells, making sure to remove the white membrane as well to preserve the desired texture. Clean the century eggs thoroughly. Cut them into uniform small pieces and arrange them on a plate. When cutting, moisten the knife with a little water to achieve clean cuts without sticking.

2.Next, prepare the ingredients. Wash a small handful of green and red bell peppers in clear water, remove the stems, and cut them into rings. The green and red bell peppers are used for visual appeal. Crush a few cloves of garlic with the back of a knife and finely chop them. Slice a small piece of ginger into thin slices, then dice it into ginger paste. Mix all the ingredients evenly and set aside.

3.Heat an adequate amount of cooking oil in a pan. Once the oil reaches 70% heat, remove it from the heat and drizzle it over the prepared ingredients. The hot oil instantly brings out the fragrant and spicy flavors of the ingredients. Then, in a bowl, add 2 grams of salt, 1 gram of MSG, a small amount of sugar for enhancing flavor, 5 grams of light soy sauce, and 5 grams of vinegar. Stir well to mix.

4.Finally, evenly pour the prepared sauce over the plate. This simple and easy-to-learn dish, Green Bell Pepper Century Eggs, is now ready.

Tips

1.Choose fresh century eggs: When purchasing century eggs, ensure that they have no cracks or damage on the surface and do not have any strange odor. Fresh century eggs have a consistent color and a firm texture.
2.Fully cook the century eggs: Place the century eggs in cold water and heat them until boiling, then continue boiling for 10-12 minutes. This will ensure that the egg yolks are thoroughly cooked, avoiding any health risks associated with consuming raw eggs.
3.Handle the peeling process carefully: Take caution when peeling the century eggs to prevent damage to the egg whites and yolks. It is best to soak the century eggs in warm water for a period of time, as this makes it easier to remove the shells.
4.Cut into even pieces: Slice the century eggs into uniformly sized small pieces, ensuring that each bite contains a combination of egg white and yolk.

Cold tossed century eggs are a highly flavorful side dish that showcases its unique charm whether served with rice or as an appetizer. If you haven’t tried this dish yet, why not prepare it yourself and savor its deliciousness!
