Ingredients for garlic lettuce

Lettuce 200g
Garlic 10g
Edible oil 3ml
Oyster sauce 10g
Light soy sauce 5g
Sesame oil 3ml
Sugar 2g
Salt 3g

Steps:

1.Tear the lettuce leaves one by one along the veins and wash them thoroughly in a bowl of water. Set aside. Chop the garlic into minced pieces.

2.Take a pot, add an appropriate amount of water, and put it on the stove to heat. When the water starts boiling, add a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of cooking oil. This will enhance the flavor of the lettuce and help maintain its vibrant green color. Once the water is fully boiling, quickly add the prepared lettuce leaves into the boiling water. Set a timer for 20 seconds to blanch the lettuce in the hot water, making it slightly tender while still retaining its crispness. After 20 seconds, use a strainer or tongs to quickly remove the blanched lettuce leaves to prevent overcooking. Place the drained lettuce leaves on kitchen paper towels or a strainer to gently remove excess water.

3.Heat up a pan with oil, then add the minced garlic. Stir-fry until fragrant, then add 20ml of water. Bring it to a boil and add soy sauce, sugar, and oyster sauce. Finally, add a little sesame oil before removing it from the heat.

4.Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the arranged lettuce on a serving plate. The sauce can be a pre-prepared seasoning or the sauce used during stir-frying. Maintain the temperature of the sauce as much as possible to ensure it fully penetrates the lettuce leaves, providing rich flavors. Use a spoon or other utensils to evenly drizzle the sauce over each leaf, ensuring that every piece absorbs enough flavor. Make sure the sauce is distributed evenly on the lettuce so that every bite tastes consistent and delicious. Once the sauce is poured over the lettuce, you can serve the dish and enjoy!

  1. Make smooth garlic paste: Grind the garlic into a smooth paste using the back of a knife or a grinder. This will ensure that the garlic is evenly distributed and smooth, allowing it to better penetrate the lettuce leaves.
