Ingredients for Braised Tofu in Fragrant Sauce:

Tofu 200g
Soy sauce 6g
Oyster sauce 3g
Mature vinegar 3g
Starch 3g
Minced garlic 5g
Chopped green onion 5g
Ketchup 3g
Bean paste 3g

Step:

1.First, cut the tofu into evenly-sized small cubes and arrange them neatly on a plate for later use. Next, it’s time to prepare the sauce. Take a clean bowl and add two tablespoons of soy sauce, one tablespoon of dark soy sauce, followed by vinegar, cornstarch, and tomato sauce. Stir well with a spoon to ensure all the ingredients are thoroughly blended. This aromatic sauce is the soul of this braised tofu dish.

2.Heat some oil in a flat-bottomed pan. When the oil reaches the right temperature, carefully add the prepared tofu cubes and fry them over medium-low heat. Once the tofu turns golden brown on both sides, remove them from the pan and set aside.

3.Then, heat the pan again with some fresh oil, add minced garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant. Add a tablespoon of Bean paste and continue stirring until the paste releases its red oil.

4.Gently place the fried tofu back into the pan and stir-fry with a spatula to coat the tofu evenly with the chili bean paste and garlic. Next, pour half a cup of water into the pan and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Once it boils, slowly pour the prepared sauce into the pan while gently stirring with a spatula, ensuring every piece of tofu absorbs the flavors of the sauce. Finally, sprinkle chopped green onions over the dish, stir-fry briefly to mix well, and then the delicious braised tofu is ready to be served.

Tips:

1.Cut the tofu into small cubes, as this allows for better flavor absorption.

2.When preparing the sauce, it’s important to maintain the right ratio of ingredients; otherwise, the taste of the tofu may be uneven.

3.When pan-frying the tofu, it is crucial to control the heat and use low heat to slowly fry it until all sides turn golden brown.

When the fragrance of stir-fried tofu fills the kitchen, it feels as if time has stood still. The crispy and tender cubes of tofu slowly soak in the savory sauce, resembling exquisite ceramic artworks with their enticing colors. The red chili flakes and green spring onions garnish the dish, adding a touch of vibrant life to this delicious creation. Every bite brings a fresh and tender texture with rich layers, like a lively symphony dancing on the taste buds.
