Ingredients for Bacon Rice Balls:

Rice 300g
Onion 50g
Salad dressing 20g
Dried meat floss 50g
Sesame 20g
Cheese 30g
Bacon 50g
Seaweed crumbs 20g
Chopped green onion 3g
Color pepper 30g

Steps:

1.Prepare a fresh onion and a few bell peppers. Peel the onion and cut it into small pieces, then use a knife to finely chop it. This will ensure that the flavor of the onion is evenly distributed in the bacon rice balls and adds richness to the texture. Next, prepare the bell peppers. Choose different colored bell peppers, such as red, yellow, green, etc., to add color to the rice balls. Cut the bell peppers open, remove the seeds and white membranes inside, and then chop them into fine pieces similar to the onion. This not only provides additional texture but also adds a bright color to the rice balls. Additionally, prepare some seaweed for wrapping the bacon rice balls. Gently crumble the seaweed until it becomes soft. This will make it easier to wrap the rice and bacon and provide a better texture.

2.Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, two tablespoons of mayonnaise, sesame seeds, and pork floss to the cooked rice. Put the cooked rice in a large bowl. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the rice. Make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the rice so that you can taste their crispiness in every bite. Add two tablespoons of mayonnaise and a generous amount of sesame seeds. The mayonnaise adds aroma and rich flavors, while the sesame seeds provide additional fragrance and texture. Add the pork floss, which adds savory flavor and rich texture to the rice balls. Stir the rice and ingredients together, making sure they are evenly mixed. Next, take a handful of rice and shape it into a long cylindrical form in your hand. Place a slice of cheese on top of the bacon. The cheese will melt as the bacon cooks, adding a rich cheesy flavor to the rice balls. Then place the formed rice on top of the bacon and roll it up with the bacon. The bacon will wrap around the rice and create a delicious outer coating.

3.Prepare a skillet and pour in enough cooking oil. Adjust the heat to medium and wait for the oil to heat up. Once the oil is hot, evenly place the prepared bacon rice balls in the skillet. Make sure there is enough space between the rice balls so that they can cook evenly. Allow the rice balls to fry in the skillet until the bacon is golden brown and crispy on both sides. This usually takes about 3 minutes. Carefully flip the rice balls using a spatula or tongs to ensure that the other side is also evenly cooked to a golden color. Once fried, use a kitchen paper towel to absorb excess oil. Remove the fried bacon rice balls and gently place them on a plate.

Tips:

1.Choose suitable bacon for frying: Select good-quality bacon that has an even distribution of fat and meat, with a moderate thickness. This ensures that the bacon is cooked thoroughly and evenly without being too greasy.

2.Use cooled rice: Use freshly cooked rice that has been slightly cooled to make it easier to shape and hold together. Cooled rice also reduces stickiness, making the process more convenient.

3.Arrange the rice balls evenly: Before frying, make sure to place the bacon rice balls evenly in the skillet, keeping equal spacing between them. This prevents them from sticking together and ensures that each rice ball heats evenly.

4.Control the heat: Adjust the heat to medium to avoid burning the bacon rice balls or turning the outer layer too dark. Be patient and wait for each side to become golden and crispy.
