A winter must-have double skin milk

Published Categorized as Dessert

In the gentle music, a bowl of warm double-layered milk quietly sits on the table. It resembles a pure white cloud, exuding an enticing fragrance. I gaze at its smooth and delicate surface, as if it holds infinite imaginative possibilities. Slowly, I pick up the spoon and gently uncover its intricate first layer of skin. Under my touch, it feels as soft as a feather, with just the right level of tenderness, bringing inner satisfaction. Unveiling the second layer, it reveals a white-as-jade, mirror-like core. In that moment, I can almost see a world of pure serenity.

I delicately sink the spoon into the depths of the double-layered milk, feeling its warmth touching my heart. The silky texture and rich creamy aroma intermingle on my taste buds, creating an indescribable sense of happiness. Each mouthful is like a refreshing spring that nourishes my soul, gentle and nurturing.

Steps:

1.As the water in the pot starts to boil, carefully place the steamer inside. In an empty bowl, pour fresh milk and place it in the steamer. Reduce the heat to ensure that the milk slowly heats up without overheating. The entire steaming process takes about an hour. During this time, the steam permeates the steamer, gently enveloping the milk, nurturing it tenderly. Time passes slowly, and my anticipation gradually builds. Finally, when the hour is up, I carefully remove the steamer and allow the milk in the bowl to cool for a moment. At this point, a delicate layer of milk skin forms on the surface, stunning like white jade. I gently touch the milk skin with my finger, feeling its softness and smoothness. Carefully, I peel off this layer of milk skin, allowing it to reveal itself completely before my eyes. It resembles a exquisite painting, showcasing perfect texture and color.

2.In another bowl of milk, I slowly pour in granulated sugar and gently stir until the sugar completely dissolves in the milk. Meanwhile, I separate the fresh egg whites from the egg yolks. Using a whisk, I beat the egg whites until they form fine foam, then add them to the already prepared milk mixture. Next, I put it back into the steamer and continue to steam over low heat for about 10 minutes. During this process, the milk gradually thickens, and the egg whites mix with the milk, creating a smooth and rich texture. When the steaming time is up, I carefully take out the steamer and let the milk cool slightly. At this point, I can add some toppings according to my preference, such as vanilla extract, crushed nuts, or fruits. These toppings will add more flavor layers and visual enjoyment to the double-layered milk. Finally, I can’t wait to taste this delicious double-layered milk. Its silky and smooth texture, with a sweet but not cloying taste, carries a rich milk aroma. The addition of toppings adds different flavors and textures, making it even more diverse.

Tips:

  1. After cracking the eggs into a bowl, you can use a larger slotted spoon to scoop up the egg yolks, being careful not to break them. Once the egg whites flow into the bowl, the separation of egg whites and yolks is successful.
  2. Removing foam before pouring in the milk: Before pouring in the milk, you can use a sieve or a spoon to gently skim off the foam on the surface of the egg whites, ensuring a smoother texture for the final double-layered milk.

This steamed milk, fragrant and delicate, seems to have captured the beauty of time. It brings me a sense of tranquility and satisfaction, immersing me in contemplation. The meticulously steamed milk skin is a testament to attention to detail and patience. It is not just a dish, but also a unique artistic expression that allows one to immerse themselves in an atmosphere, experiencing the beauty and warmth of life.
